For January, we submitted an application to the CATAPULT FILM FUND. Fingers crossed and we'll keep ya posted.

"Everything is an Afterthought: The Life and Writings of Paul Nelson" continues to inspire our work for this project. Penned by Kevin Avery several years ago, the book is full of stories that make up Paul's life, as well Paul's words about himself, his work and the musicians he critiqued. It's still available at The Strand bookstore in NYC and through Amazon.com.

The From the Heart Foundation has narrowed down the field of applicants for the Fall 2017 submissions ... And we are one of 20 finalists- yippie! 

"Since 1992, From the Heart Productions has supported filmmakers with cash and substantial professional discounts from our film industry partners, averaging an estimated $30,000 per filmmaker.  The Roy W. Dean grants program, with several annual deadlines, has grown into one of the most sought after competitions in the world. The Roy W. Dean Grant funds unique films that make a contribution to society.  It gives filmmakers with great stories told with passion the funding to get their projects started or completed."

Soon, we'll be sending off our first grant application to From the Heart Productions. We put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears for this first of many applications. Fingers crossed for a favorable outcome. Either way, it's been a great and necessary experience. We'll keep you posted.

Trippin' to NYC: Last fall, we rounded up a few of Paul's former colleagues from Evergreen Video to interview for the documentary.  We shot the interviews at Jamie Lamm's (tiny) studio space at the I Heart Radio building. On deck for the interviews were David Aaron, Dani Cardia, Rebecca Chaikin, and Paul's biographer, Kevin Avery. Thanks guys, we're getting much use from the footage.
